Space Coast Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was established in May 2006. The mission is to assist cancer patients and their caregivers in our community with financial and emotional demands that are associated with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The foundation provides direct financial assistance to help pay for pain medication, anti-nausea medication and utilities. In addition, the board of directors supports local oncology education and research. The foundation has available ten $200 educational scholarships for oncology nurses at each of the following hospitals: Parrish Medical Center, Cape Canaveral Hospital, Viera Hospital, Wuesthoff Medical Center-Rockledge, Wuesthoff Medical Center-Melbourne, Holmes Regional Medical Center and Palm Bay Hospital.
The Foundation sponsors activities throughout the year to support our community. These include Daffodil Gala, Celebration of Life, Hope Health Healing educational seminars and monthly support groups.
The Board of Directors is an all-volunteer group of Space Coast Cancer Center physicians, employees, and patients, as well as leaders in our community.
